First Day of Training
Everything you learn is slow, but step by step it will all come together. PROMISE...After all Flyball is a series of tricks, all put together, you will be amazed how quick the dogs learn, and how much they LOVE it.
So , come on down, first session FREE, Please Bring down a Chair for yourself, A lead for your DOG, soft collar, no choke chains please, please wear covered in shoes (no thongs etc)
NO dogs are allowed off lead at any time unless instructed by a club member
Bring Water for Your dog and a water bowl, a drink for yourself
Dogs Must be 18 months old to RACE in competitions they are never too young to start learning flyball
Dogs can start using equipment from 12 months of age , but its never too young to learn the basics and socialise with other dogs, Once they have had their full Puppy needles , come down and see us , Even if your dog isn't racing, you can be a team player and assist at comps etc
vaccinations are a must... so make sure you have your vet certificate when you come to your first training session
SO you decided FLYBALL is for you....
1. You need to Join the Australian Flyball association, this is around $25 for 1 person and includes 1 dog ($20 for addition dogs after that) , You will be issued a CRN competition registration number... This allows you to be covered under the associations public liability etc... And enables you to be allowed to enter comp rings etc and run dogs , and assist with boxloading and Shagging etc..(to be explained)
these memberships go through their committee meetings , usually the 1st Monday of the month

2. Once you have joined the AFA , we the ask you to Join the sydney scallywags, a form can be obtained from club secreatry or co-ordinator , there is an annual fee , and each member is also asked to contribute to ground hire , usually every 3 months , please ask for more details
